2023 At-Large Chapter Election

According to the AAUP at-large chapter bylaws, we will be holding an election for five officer positions during spring 2023: President, Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer, and two board members. The term for these positions is two years, and only members in good standing with the AAUP and the chapter may be elected and serve as officers. Additional information on the chapter is available here. This web page will be periodically updated with election announcements, election rules, and information on the candidates.

Per the chapter bylaws, we are holding officer elections this spring that will conclude by the end of June 2021. The first step in this process is soliciting nominations for the five positions. The official notice for nominations was sent on Monday, April 17, that will include nomination instructions, and nominations will run through Monday, May 8. Any member of the at-large chapter in good standing as of May 1, 2023 is eligible to self-nominate, nominate another member of the chapter, and participate in the election.

If there is only one nominee for a position, no ballot vote will be held and that nominee will be considered elected by acclamation. Voting on any contested positions would begin in June if there is a contested election. Elections will be held by secret ballot and will be conducted electronically via a secure voting platform, members without active email addresses will be sent a mail ballot. A formal election notice will be distributed if there is a ballot election.
