AAUP President Todd Wolfson: ICE Should Suspend All Operation in American Cities

AAUP President Todd Wolfson issued the following statement in response to the murder of Renee Nicole Good during an ICE operation in Minneapolis:

The AAUP is outraged and deeply saddened over the reckless, unjustifiable murder of Renee Nicole Good, a thirty-seven-year-old mother of three in Minneapolis. The ICE agent responsible for this murder should be held fully accountable under the law and ICE should suspend all operations in Minneapolis and all American cities.

We must be clear on what ICE is under the Trump administration: a militarized police force spreading terror in our communities, trampling on our fundamental rights, and undermining public safety. Their actions are violent, cruel, disgraceful, and fundamentally inconsistent with American values. This cannot be allowed to continue.

The AAUP stands in solidarity with the family of Renee Nicole Good and all communities that have suffered under ICE occupation.
