A webinar for Academe magazine.
This webinar, drawing on the theme of the winter issue of Academe, will consider the structure and conditions of academic labor today. Who performs the type of knowledge work we call academic labor, of what does it consist, and what might its appropriate aims be? The webinar will feature conversations between Alissa Karl (SUNY Brockport) and Frederico Menino (The New School) about the issue’s theme, between David A. Banks (University at Albany, SUNY) and Katie Rodger (University of California, Davis) about the academic underclass, and between Jesús Fernández (Higher Education Labor United) and Michael Ziegler (Brown University) about graduate student labor.
