Media Awards

The AAUP no longer administers a media awards program. The information on this page is about a past program.

In 1970 the AAUP established a Higher Education Writers Award, which was presented for outstanding interpretive reporting on higher education. In 2001, it was renamed the Iris Molotsky Award for Excellence in Coverage of Higher Education in honor of the AAUP's long-serving director of public information. In 2013, the AAUP established a second award in honor of another long-serving staff member, the Martin D. Snyder Award for Excellence in Student Coverage of Higher Education for high caliber reporting in student newspapers. The media awards program was discontinued in 2016.

Please contact Laura Markwardt at the AAUP's Washington office for more information.
