Webinar: Remote Teaching, Recording of Classes, and Intellectual Property

AAUP members are invited to participate in a webinar on remote teaching, recording of classes, and intellectual property. Register here.

When: Wednesday, December 9, 2020 • 3:00 PM • Eastern Standard Time

What: This webinar reviews the impact on copyright and intellectual property of the move to remote teaching as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. We will discuss what faculty can do to protect their intellectual property, and will focus on the recording of lectures, the uses and abuses of these recordings, and what options faculty have when addressing recordings.

Who: Presenter Aaron Nisenson is AAUP counsel. Presenter Chris Sinclair is a faculty member at the University of Oregon and secretary-treasurer of the national AAUP.
The webinar will be followed by optional breakout sessions, where participants can discuss related developments on their campuses in an informal setting. When you register, let us know if you plan to stay for breakouts, so we can plan the right number of facilitators!

Register here. (member log in required)

Note that this webinar covers much of the same material as a webinar on this topic that we offered in April.
