This webinar is now full, but you can:
Knowledge is power.
One critical element of success for AAUP chapters—both unionized and advocacy—is understanding how to obtain information. There are numerous tools available: Freedom of Information Act and other public records laws, labor laws and collective bargaining agreements, and regulatory agency filings. Knowledge of the various statutes governing disclosure enables chapter activists to obtain information needed in representing the interests of our members.
Join us on Thursday, April 3 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) for “The Art of the Information Request.” This short course will offer a guide to the tools available, and will address the particular needs of participants. Please note that this free webinar is offered as a benefit to members of AAUP chapters and is limited to thirty participants; you must be an AAUP member to register.
Presenter Mike Mauer is a labor attorney who serves as Senior Labor Advisor to the AAUP. His publications include The Union Member’s Complete Guide (Union Communication Services, 2001) and Academic Collective Bargaining (co-editor; jointly published by the AAUP and the Modern Language Association, 2006.)
