ASC Election Information

The Nominating Committee of the Assembly of State Conferences has issued its final report for the 2014 election.

The members of the Nominating Committee are Sheila Teahan (Michigan State University), chair; Jim Klein (Del Mar College); and John McNay (University of Cincinnati).

In 2014, four ASC executive committee seats are up for election. Three of these are for two-year terms: treasurer, secretary, and one member at large seat. In addition, a special election will be held for chair to a replacement term of one year. All four seats will be elected by delegates to the June 13 ASC meeting in Washington, DC. Nominations for all positions may also be made from the floor of the June ASC meeting. The list of candidates follows.

Treasurer: John Hinshaw (Lebanon Valley College); David Robinson (Truman State in MO)
Secretary: Josie McQuail (Tennessee Tech)
Member at Large: Leila Pazagadi (Nevada State College); Rory Goggins (Murray State)

The by-laws of the ASC state:

At the annual meeting, nominations for Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, and At Large Member may also be made from the floor provided nominees receive written endorsement from no fewer than three authorized delegates to the Assembly. The time for presentation of nominations from the floor shall be scheduled prior to approval of the agenda of the Assembly.

Nomination procedures for Chair of the ASC:

Due to the vacancy in the Chair of the Assembly of State Conferences effective January 16, 2014, nominations will be taken from the floor at the annual meeting for Chair, to complete the term to expire June 12, 2015. As for the other positions, nominations from the floor will require written endorsement from no fewer than three authorized delegates to the Assembly.
