AAUP General Secretary Authorizes Investigation

AAUP general secretary Roger Bowen in June authorized an investigation into allegations of violations of academic freedom and tenure at New Mexico Highlands University. The investigating committee, which will be composed of faculty members who have had no previous involvement in the case, will be asked to visit the institution, meet with the principal parties, and prepare a report for submission to the AAUP's national Committee A on Academic Freedom and Tenure, which may authorize its publication in Academe.
