Resolution Passed on Free Higher Education
The Association’s Collective Bargaining Congress passed a resolution in December endorsing the Free Higher Education campaign, a national campaign for free tuition and fees for anyone meeting the admissions criteria at any public institution of higher education. The resolution notes that a recent study found that low- and middle-income students are unable to afford the full cost of public college in nearly every state in the union and that the lack of access by growing numbers of Americans to higher education limits democratic participation in economic and political processes. More information about the campaign can be found at http://freehighered.org .
