Anti-Semitic Incidents Up, Group Says

The number of anti-Semitic incidents on campuses rose for the third year in a row, according to an annual audit released by the Anti-Defamation League. The organization collected information on 106 incidents in 2002, up from 85 incidents in 2001. Anti-Israel demonstrations are not counted as anti-Semitic incidents unless they include "overt expression of anti-Jewish sentiments, including name-calling directed at Jewish students, placards comparing the Star of David to a swastika, or vandalism of Jewish properties, such as Hillel buildings," according to the audit.
