Another 1940 Statement Endorser
The January–February issue of Academe reported that seven organizations had endorsed the 1940 Statement of Principles on Academic Freedom and Tenure during 2001. In December, after that issue went to press, the New England Historical Association endorsed the statement, bringing the number of 2001 endorsers to eight and the total number to 181. The statement, along with other AAUP policy documents, can be found on the AAUP Web site.
