Negotiators are working to meet a rapidly approaching deadline for Wayne State University faculty contracts, but the administration has put on the table a proposal that would do away with the traditional tenure system at the university. Leaders of the Wayne State AAUP-AFT chapter are fighting back against this attack on tenure. Chapter president, Charlie Parrish, has called the administration’s proposal to allow the Wayne State administration more leeway to dismiss tenured faculty members “an astonishing power grab.”
The Wayne State faculty need your help NOW! Please join us in supporting the WSU Negotiating Team in their attempt to preserve tenure at the university.
