After two faculty bargaining units were certified last week, the University of Illinois Chicago administration has indicated it will stop fighting recognition and proceed to bargaining. UIC faculty with appointments of .51 percent or greater are now in two coordinated bargaining units, one for tenure-system faculty and the other for contingent faculty, within the UIC United Faculty (AAUP/AFT).
