Faculty Have Families Too. 2006. This Powerpoint presentation was designed by the AAUP’s Committee on Women in the Academic Profession. It can be downloaded and used to facilitate discussion on campuses about creating a family friendly workplace. The presentation highlights some recent research on work/family issues in academe and the best practices recommended by the AAUP in its 2001 Statement of Principles on Family Responsibilities and Academic Work. The workshop also explores the role of work/family policies in encouraging the hiring and retention of women faculty.
