Committee A on Academic Freedom and Tenure is the largest and oldest of the AAUP standing committees. Each year, it issues a comprehensive annual report as well as several reports and statements on topics of particular interest in the areas of academic freedom and tenure.
On occasion, statements and reports are issued by subcommittees composed of members of Committee A along with members of other standing committees.
