Higher education budget cuts, the erosion of tenure, and assaults on academic freedom for political gain are taking their toll on our profession. And Louisiana has been one of the hardest-hit states in recent years, from post-Katrina layoffs to massive disinvestment in public institutions.
What can we do about it? Plenty.
Join AAUP leaders, chapter members, and likeminded faculty activists for an informative, inspiring day of workshops and conversation about how to fix what ails our profession, locally and nationally.
Spend the day with colleagues, prioritizing the challenges confronting faculty in your region and strategizing ways to tackle them on your campus. Learn about what faculty activists are doing locally and across the country to protect tenure and strengthen faculty governance through policy work and grassroots organizing. Find out how you can get involved.
