Capitol Hill Day

Thursday, June 9, 2011

That government is the strongest of which every man feels himself a part.
—Thomas Jefferson

Coming to Washington for the AAUP’s Annual Conference on the State of Higher Education? Experience the real Washington while you’re in town by joining our Capitol Hill Day event! Participate directly in advocacy work on the Hill by talking with your elected officials about higher education and issues facing academe.

All you need is your commitment to higher education. Briefing materials on the issues and current legislation will be available before the event.

Please sign up for Capitol Hill Day when you register to attend the annual conference. There is no cost to participate, but your registration allows us to reach you with event details and materials. Once you have registered, call your senators and representative to set up appointments for June 9. (Find their contact information at www.senate.gov and www.house.gov.) That afternoon, attend a reception and mingle with colleagues, Hill staffers, and members of the AAUP national staff to network and share ideas.
