Guidelines
In order to be eligible for a per capita grant, the conference must meet certain requirements. These are:
- A functioning state executive committee.
- An annual state conference meeting.
- The publication & distribution of a conference newsletter twice a year.
These may be published electronically or on paper.
- The existence of a chapter service program.
An acceptable chapter service program must meet the following criteria:
• The conference's chapter service program shall have a faculty director with responsibility for administering the program and coordinating national and state responses to chapter organizing and development opportunities. Include the phone number of the faculty director.
• The conference shall have a twice-a-year AAUP newsletter or newspaper that promotes the conference's chapter service program and publicizes the name and number of the director or contact person(s). If there is a conference website, a description of the chapter service program should appear on it.
• In addition to the newsletter or newspaper publication, the conference shall periodically distribute information about the chapter service program to chapter and senate leaders throughout the state.
- The existence of a functioning legislative monitoring/lobbying program.
